We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Writer to join our Technical Publications team. In this role, you will support the maintenance, revision, and distribution of operational manuals and documentation critical to airline safety, efficiency, and compliance. Working in close coordination with various departments and regulatory stakeholders, you will help ensure all digital and print materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with company policies and aviation regulations.
As a Technical Writer, you will:
Create, revise, and publish operational documentation (e.g., GACA-approved manuals, OEM publications) in digital formats such as PDF, HTML, and XML using structured content tools.
Manage publication lifecycles—including drafting, reviewing, formatting, and distributing manuals and notices—ensuring consistency and compliance across all platforms.
Liaise with internal manual owners to coordinate and approve change requests, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
Maintain and update content across digital systems (EFB, DMS portal, SharePoint), ensuring frontline users have access to the most current operational information.
Organize and incorporate regulatory notices and OEM bulletins into customized company manuals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Support safety and operational readiness by issuing essential updates such as Crew Notices and Manual Notices.
Take part in safety awareness programs and ensure compliance with health and environmental policies.
Experience & Expertise
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an airline flight operations environment, preferably in technical documentation or publication roles.
Proficiency in aviation documentation platforms (e.g., FlySmart suite, Orlando DMS).
Solid knowledge of structured content authoring tools (XML, SGML, ArborText, FrameMaker, WYSIWYG) and digital formats (HTML, PDF).
Strong familiarity with document distribution systems and tools such as SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, and Visio.
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma required; university degree preferred.
Training or certification in technical writing, document control, or aviation systems is a plus.
Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Excellent computer literacy and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of document control processes and aviation technical publication standards.
