Riyadh Air (RX), headquartered in the Saudi Capital, is the new national airline that’s shaping the future of flying. It seeks to lead the aviation industry by transforming Saudi Arabia into a global aviation and trade hub – a digitally native airline that will connect the kingdom to more than 100 destinations.
As a Manager Technical Safety, you will provide safety oversight across Engineering and Maintenance, Ground Operations, and Cargo, ensuring robust safety management and effective risk control across these critical operational domains as Riyadh Air continues to build and scale a world-class airline.
Yours is a role which will lead hazard identification, safety risk assessment, occurrence reporting and investigation, and safety performance monitoring across technical, ground, and cargo operations. You will ensure safety risks are effectively identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored in accordance with applicable GACA, ICAO, and company requirements, while supporting a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
You will also provide safety oversight of third-party ground handling and cargo service providers across the Riyadh Air network. This will include monitoring provider safety performance, leading risk-based station safety oversight and audits, managing findings through to closure, and maintaining strong safety interfaces with contracted partners to ensure consistent standards as the network grows.
As the designated Lead Investigator for technical and airworthiness-related occurrences, you will lead and direct investigations into significant technical events, identifying causal and contributing factors and developing meaningful safety recommendations. You will work closely with GACA, relevant investigation authorities, aircraft and equipment manufacturers, maintenance organisations, and internal stakeholders to ensure investigations are conducted to the highest professional standards.
You will represent the Safety Department across Engineering and Maintenance, Ground Operations, Cargo, and wider operational forums, working collaboratively to strengthen safety performance, support effective Management of Change, and ensure safety remains embedded in business decision-making.
There is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact by shaping the safety framework of a new-generation airline, driving continuous improvement, strengthening third-party safety oversight, developing technical investigation capability, and promoting a proactive safety culture. You will play a key role in helping Riyadh Air deliver safe, resilient, and world-class operations as we redefine the future of aviation.
Degree qualified, you will demonstrate at least five years of experience in aviation safety, including proven experience conducting technical and airworthiness-related safety investigations. Ideally, you will hold a B1 or B2 aircraft maintenance licence, or an A&P licence, supported by strong technical knowledge and operational credibility.
You will be expected to have successfully completed an aircraft accident or incident investigation course, with lead investigator qualification or a clear development plan to attain it. A recognised Aviation Safety Management System qualification is also required, alongside an auditor qualification to ISO 19011 or equivalent and familiarity with ISAGO standards, or a development plan to achieve these qualifications.
This role requires proven experience in safety risk assessment methodologies, strong analytical and technical report-writing skills, and a thorough understanding of aviation safety regulations, including GACARs and relevant EASA or FAA regulatory frameworks. You will also demonstrate fluent written and spoken English and the ability to work confidently across technical, operational, regulatory, and third-party environments.
